The Future Looks Digital — and I’m Living It

A year ago, I was an engineer struggling to find my place in a rapidly changing world. Caught between curiosity and career indecision, I fell into digital marketing — and quickly realized that I wasn’t just acquiring a new set of skills. I was entering the future. From SEO to social media and now AI, it all seems like a glimpse of what’s next. This blog is my attempt at documenting that journey, and perhaps encouraging someone else to take their first digital step.

After completing my 11th and 12th in science, I pursued a B.Tech in Information Technology because I was genuinely interested in technology. Like many students, I thought coding was the path to success in tech. But as semesters went by, I started realizing something important — I wasn’t drawn to code the way others were. What excited me more was the world of digital marketing: the creativity, the strategy, the real-time impact.

Still, I decided to complete my IT degree and even did a 2-month internship as a web development trainee. That internship became the turning point. It confirmed what I had started to feel deep down: I’m not a coding person — I’m a digital marketing person.

Once that clicked, I wasted no time. I began exploring digital marketing seriously. I started reading blogs, following marketing websites, enrolling in online courses, and eventually landed an internship in digital marketing. That internship led to my first job as a Digital Marketing Executive — a huge step forward in my journey

A World Bigger Than I Expected

Once I stepped into the field, I realized digital marketing is way more vast than I ever imagined. I thought I had a decent idea of what it involved — but I was just paddling in a lake, and this field is an entire ocean.

I started building my personal brand on LinkedIn, watched YouTube videos, completed Udemy courses, and followed expert marketers online. Even now, as a fresher, I’m learning something new every single day. No two days are the same — and that’s what makes it exciting.

What I’ve Grown to Love

Out of everything I’ve learned so far, some areas really stood out to me. I’ve found a special interest in content writingguest postinglink building, and social submission. These tasks might seem small on the surface, but they’re powerful tools that shape how brands grow online. More importantly — they’re the parts I truly enjoy doing.

I’m still new, still exploring, and still learning — but I’ve never felt more confident that I’m in the right place. Every piece of content I write, every backlink I earn, and every post I share feels like a step into the future.

A Note to Anyone Just Starting

If you’re someone who’s unsure about your path — especially if you’re from a technical background like me — just know that it’s okay to pivot. It’s okay to not love what you studied. What matters more is what excites you today, and where you see yourself growing tomorrow.

For me, digital marketing isn’t just a job. It’s a space where creativity meets strategy, and where learning never stops. The future truly looks digital — and I’m proud to be living it.
